Duane de Four, M.A. is a public speaker, educator, and blogger specializing in gender violence prevention, bystander intervention, diversity and sexual health education. In almost twenty years as a public speaker and educator, Duane has given talks and facilitated thousands of training reaching innumerable:
- College/University students, administrators, faculty, staff and coaches
- Professional athletes, coaches and staff with the NFL, NBA, NHL and NASCAR
- Service men and women in the U.S. Marine Corps, Air Force and Air National Guard
- Men enrolled in batterer intervention programs
- Youth in detention, revocation and treatment centers
- Middle and high school students
Duane currently works as a Project Manager for MIT’s Program for Violence Prevention and Response (VPR) and is also the creator of HowManly.com, a blog about masculinity in media and culture. In 2011, Duane was one of only six Subject Matter Experts selected to train Air Force Sexual Assault Response Coordinators (SARCs) to deliver a groundbreaking Bystander Intervention curriculum that will reach over 600,000 Air Force personnel serving around the world. Additionally, Duane works with numerous like-minded organizations such as the Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) program, the National Consortium for Academics and Sports (NCAS), Futures Without Violence, and the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts (PPLM), to name a few.
